Create the Perfect Wedding Look

The key to creating a gorgeous look on your wedding day is to feel comfortable and confident. When choosing your wedding makeup, select a colour palette that suits your personal style, and highlight your best features to let your natural beauty shine through. Our beauty experts at Pür have chosen three elegant looks to help you look and feel your best on the big day.

Pink LookPretty in Pink
This dewy, fresh-faced look is a great option for a outdoor spring or summer wedding. A flawless complexion is key for this look; to achieve it, start with a foundation primer. This evens skin tone and creates a silky-smooth canvas for makeup application. Be sure to use a foundation that matches your skin tone as closely as possible. A few weeks before your wedding, head to a makeup counter and ask a professional to help you select your perfect shade.

The blush you use should have blue-pink undertones and rich pigment (like Pressed Mineral Blush in Cherry Opal) to give the cheeks that natural, rosy glow. Eye shadows in pastel and watercolor shades swept over the lids will give the eyes a subtle pop of colour. Follow with a finishing powder like Pür Radiance, (also know as the look of love in a compact!) and dust all over the face for a bit of shimmer. To finish the look, keep lips sheer with just a hint of colour and shine. A lip tint works best to complement your pretty in pink look.

Hollywood LookHollywood Glamour
A modern take on old Hollywood glam, this sophisticated look focuses on bold, red lips. When selecting a lip colour, avoid shades that have orange undertones as they can make teeth appear yellow. A true red with blue undertones (such as Mineral Shea Butter Lipstick in Red Ruby) will pop and give you the look you're going for.

Eyes should be sultry, but softer than the classic red carpet Hollywood look. Instead of traditional black eyeliner, try a deep brown shade like Chocolate Mica that will add definition without looking too harsh. On the lids, apply a rich, golden-brown shadow and add highlights with an off-white hue just under the brow. Sandstone and White Opal Pressed Mineral Shadows are perfect for this palette. Well-defined eyebrows finish off the eye; use a brow shaping wax and powder to sculpt and fill in your arches. A soft cheek with a sheer powder and little or no blush will round out the look.

All About Eyes LookAll About Eyes
Eyes are the focal point of this vintage-inspired look where the end result is a well-blended, light to dark effect. Gold, bronze and deep plum shades (see Pür Minerals Champagne Citrine, Gold Dust and Plum Slate Pressed Mineral Shadows) are ideal to achieve the look. Begin by applying a gold eye shadow to the inner corner of the eye for a hint of sparkle, then graduate to the deeper golden colour in the middle. In the outer corners, apply the deep plum shade for a dramatic finish.

Apply a smudge-proof gel eyeliner along the lash line and dust that same plum shadow over the liner to soften the look on your lash line. Emphasize lashes with two coats of a lengthening, thickening mascara, and balance your dramatic eyes with natural colour on the lips and cheeks. Lips can be matte or slightly shiny, but it's best to stick with a nude shade (like Mineral Shea Butter Lipstick in Sheer Citrine or Pout Plumping lip Gloss in Pearl Crème) so that your eyes really stand out.
