Try Before You Buy with the Pür & Proven App

PurandprovenEver wish you could see how a product would look on you before you buy it? Well, with Pür’s new app for iPad and iPhone, you can do just that. It might just be the next best thing to your own personal makeup artist.

Simply take a photo of your beautiful self to get started. (You can also select an image from a library of model shots.) Next, with your finger, position the facial coordinates over your eyes and lips. (Don’t worry—it’s a lot easier than it sounds.) Now, you’re ready to add some color.

With Pür & Proven, you have access to Pür Minerals’ entire makeup main line, so go wild! Select the product you want to add, and let the app do the rest. Mix, match and blend shades with ease and fine-tune the intensity with a touch. In no time at all, you’ll be rolling out new looks and even full-face makeovers by the dozen. Best of all, you can share your custom creations with your friends on Facebook or via email.

Ready to get started? Click here to download the app. (Warning: this thing is pretty addictive.)

Makeup that Moisturizes? You Bet.

New4in1_WebRes_PorcelainIt’s no secret that Pϋr’s multitasking makeup can do a lot—condition the skin, correct common concerns, fight free radicals—all while delivering flawless coverage. But did you know your favorite 4-in-1, Correcting Primer and more can also help hydrate your skin? You’d better believe it.

The secret is in a type of ingredient called ceramides. Ceramides are key lipids found in the skin’s outer layer. If you think of your skin’s cells as bricks, ceramides act as the mortar that binds them together. When this component is compromised, the skin can dry out, lose form and become irritated.

Using a unique encapsulated delivery system, products like Pϋr Minerals’ enhanced Correcting Primers and 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup with built-in skincare deliver this essential element to the skin. The result is a boost in hydration that quenches parched skin and even helps plump away the look of lines.

Meet Atlanta’s Beauty Queen: Pür CEO JuE Wong

JuEprofile
We love it when members of the Pür team make news. So when we heard that our hometown magazine The Atlantan wanted to profile CEO JuE Wong, we were thrilled. Add that she was named Beauty Queen in their “Best of Beauty” section, and we could barely keep our seats. Here’s what Atlanta’s premiere lifestyle magazine had to say about our beloved leader and chief:

“Poised to set a whole new standard for the beauty biz, Wong has overseen the upgrading of packaging, along with an improved clinical makeup formula that improves the skin.”

In addition to her “creative vision and sense of social responsibility”, The Atlantan also praised Wong’s unwavering commitment to the environment.

“We have deliberately minimized our carbon footprint,” she told the magazine in an interview. “We save up to 2,000 trees a year now.”

On behalf of everyone at Pür, we’re proud of you, JuE!

Golden Globe’s Best and Worst Dressed

IStock_000000067375MediumThe stars were shining last night, as the 69th Golden Globe Awards honored film and television’s best and brightest. And while the ceremony itself was fairly tame (barring the odd expletive from bad boy host Ricky Gervais), the red carpet run-up was anything but. Long considered the dress rehearsal for the Oscars, the Globes are where A-listers show off their more adventuresome—and questionable—tastes, and last night was no exception. Here’s your Golden Globe style sum-up—from the most stunning standouts to our favorite five-star fashion disasters.

The Good
The best of the best goes to Angelina Jolie, whose satin Atelier Versace gown harkened to Hollywood’s Golden Age. A splash of scarlet gave the ivory white number a pop of color which the actress perfectly paired in her lip color. Add the best accessory of all (Brad Pitt), and we have a winner.

The Bad
Alright, while maybe not a fashion catastrophe, Lea Michele’s chrome-treated Marchesa gown definitely flirted with disaster.  The shiny, see-through piece looked like Britney Spears’ Toxic outfit met a Bedazzler. And with so much exposed, it’s lucky the Glee star didn’t suffer a costume malfunction.

The Unspeakable
“Dip dying” may sound more elegant than “tie-dying,” but it doesn’t erase its long and embarrassing history as the color choice of camp leaders and hippies worldwide. That didn’t stop Sarah Michele Gellar, however, from gracing the red carpet in a Smurf-blue gown that resembled a painter’s drop cloth.
